When you don't feel like yourself
You used to be the one who handled everything. Now you might cry in the car, lose your patience with the people you love most, and feel like your body belongs to someone else. A lot of women blame stress, burnout, or themselves long before anyone says the word perimenopause.
You're not broken, and you're not imagining it. Your body is changing while your life may be as full as it's ever been, and that's a lot to carry at once. Therapy gives you one place where you can stop holding it all together.
What we might work on
- Mood swings, irritability, or rage that feel out of character
- Anxiety, panic, or dread that's new for you
- The emotional toll of brain fog and poor sleep on your confidence, work, and relationships
- Feeling disconnected from yourself and the woman you used to be
- Caretaking burnout and boundaries that no longer hold
- Strain in your relationship as you both adjust to the changes
Anxiety & nervous system support
If you've never thought of yourself as an anxious person, this part can be scary. Panic can hit without warning, in the grocery store or in the middle of the night. We'll work with what you feel in your body and the thoughts that pile on top of it, so you have something that helps in the moment and you understand why it's happening.
What therapy can and can't do
Therapy won't balance your hormones, and I don't prescribe or provide medical care. It can work well alongside your doctor, so you can get support for your body and your mind at the same time.
